Beef Factory Prices: Beef price holds firm

Weekly Mart Prices

Mart prices improved again this week as several mart managers across the country report an uplifting start to autumn sales. Trade remains strong across all classes of cattle with strong export demand as well as farmers and feeders. This can be attributed to better weather conditions and improved grass growth as prices improved across all cattle types with customers seeking stock. Bullock (Steers) prices averaged €2.61/kg, Heifers €2.39/kg, PB Bulls & Suckler cows €3.16/kg, Dry Cows €2.19/kg, Weanling Bulls €2.66/kg, Weanling Heifers €2.35/kg and Calves €2.81/kg

Weekly Factory Prices 

Beef factory prices trended upwards again this week for the second week in a row as beef factory’s across the country increased their price across all cattle classes. Bullock (Steers) prices are up +2c (+0.5%) to €4.67kg whilst Heifers increased by +4c (+0.9%) to €4.72kg. Dry and Suckler Cows reported the largest jump increasing by +7c (1.8%)to €4.12kg.
