Beef Factory Prices
Beef factory quotes remained largely stable this week.
Bull prices increased (+2c) while Cow prices decreased slightly (-2c). Prices for Steers, Heifers and Young Bulls all remained unchanged.
However, Bord Bia’s Cattle Price Dashboard shows that the Irish Beef Composite Price is still 40c/kg behind the export beef benchmark price.
The mart trade remains strong for forward-type and fleshed cattle with Carnaross Mart, Gortatlea Mart, Carnew Mart, and Drumshanbo Mart all holding higher prices relative to factories.
Farmers should try and resist lower price offers from factories to buy cattle and consider selling their livestock either through the mart or by advertising them online.
